Satterthwaite Parish Links

Grizedale Forest Park, between Lakes Windermere and Coniston in Satterthwaite Parish, is located in the largest forest in the Lake District -- six thousand acres of woodland to be explored by bike.

NPS, Round 3 racers will start from the arena behind the Grizedale Visitor Centre and hit the trails on the challenging course designed by local elite racers Barry and Sue Clark.

The trail offers sinuous singltrack and adrenaline-pumping descents along with leg-burning ascents contouring through oak woodlands and conifer forest, with outstanding views along the way.

Grizedale Forest Park is also famous for its 70+ oversized sculptures, which can be glimpsed throughout the forest.

Facilities: Grizedale facilities include a Visitor Centre, Café, shop, seven car parks, and disabled facilities. The Grizedale Café has been temporarily relocated to a site in the bottom corner of the Walled Garden just along the path from the Visitor Centre/Shop, while a new Café is being constructed. Take-away service only is available daily from 10.30am until 4.00pm.
